The Personality and Temperament of the Pekingese makes them extremely dedicated and devoted towards their family. This breed is fairly independent which can make training a little difficult. However, dogs and puppies love their owners and enjoy spending time with them, and ultimately they are eager to please them as they are very faithful and committed to family life and following their master. This small dog is bold and confident, but also has a very sensitive side so it should be handled in a nice, gentle manner. They typically have sweet, kind personalities and temperaments and tend to show their owners a great deal of love and affection. This breed requires training from an early age and should also be socialized with unfamiliar people. This will prevent the small dog from becoming dominant as an adult dog, and it will ensure that it remains even-tempered and accepting of strangers.
