Personality and Temperament of the Komondor The Personality and Temperament of the Komondor is very serious. This is a working dog that takes its commitments very seriously. The Komondor was bred to protect livestock and sometimes this meant facing fierce attacks from other animals, therefore, this breed has a very courageous, confident and fearless personality and temperament. This is not to say that the dog is vicious or aggressive, as it isn't usually unless it is provoked. The breed doesn't take well to being teased so children in particular must be aware of this. The Komondor isn't highly recommended as a family pet, however, with the right training, from an early age, this dog will be very obedient. It's vital to socialize this breed form an young age to prevent it from becoming dominant, over-protective or reserved around strangers. With the right training, this breed will show love, affection and loyalty towards its owners. This is a giant, dignified breed of dog that is better owned by an experienced and firm handler. | |
