History and Origins of the Japanese Spitz

The History and Origins of the Japanese Spitz is really interesting. The history of the Japanese Spitz is not certain, however, it is believed that the breed was developed in Japan in the 1920s to 1930s by crossing other Spitz breeds to create the Japanese Spitz. It is believed that the pure white coat of this breed derived from the German Spitz. Over the years, the Japanese Spitz became popular throughout many different countries. This began in the 1950s when the breed was first exported from Japan to Sweden, it was later taken to England and then on to other countries such as India, Australia and the United States of America. The American Kennel Club doesn't recognise this breed as it shares similarities with the American Eskimo Dog. The breed is recognised throughout the world by other Kennel Clubs and minor registries. This small breed is a popular companion as it's even-tempered, intelligent, trainable and dignified in appearance.
