The Personality and Temperament of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is laid-back, placid and sweet. This pleasant breed is large in size, hard working and dedicated. Training can take a little time as this breed isn't as responsive as some others, however, with a little time and patience this breed of puppy will soon adapt to household and family life. The Greater Swiss Mountain puppy and dog loves company, it's a friendly and sociable breed that enjoys interaction with humans and bonds well with everybody, but as with all breeds, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog should be supervised around children. The personality and temperament of this breed is very genuine, faithful and devoted. Dogs and puppies are bright, alert and very eager to please their owners. They were bred to carry out farm work including guarding and this is the reason that dogs and puppies from this breed are naturally courageous, protective and curious which are all attributes to their personalities which makes them great guard dogs.
