It should be trained correctly from an early age and tends to behave better when owned by a firm and experienced handler. This is an intelligent breed and it learns quickly, however, it is an independent thinker so obedience training can be a little slow and difficult. This is a powerful and courageous breed of dog that wants to look after its family well. It is very protective and is a natural guard dog as it is very alert and observant. This breed of puppy and dog will make a loyal, dedicated, sociable, friendly and loving companion to the right owner. It is very energetic, therefore, it must receive the right amount of exercise to keep it both physically and mentally stimulated. The Chinese Foo is even-tempered, affectionate and enjoys human company and interaction.
