• The Bullmastiff was bred to track and guard which required a personality and temperament with attributes such as confidence, endurance, power, intelligence and strength.

The Bullmastiff has a graceful, calm and sweet Personality and Temperament. As with all breeds, puppies must be trained correctly from an early age to achieve the best type of behavior. This is an intelligent dog that is very reliable, affectionate and loving towards their owners. However, they think independently so training can be a little difficult at times so patience and perseverance may be required. They are very protective and naturally make great guard dogs. The Bullmastiff shows devotion and loyalty towards their family. They are very powerful, and have great strength, stamina and high levels of endurance. The Bullmastiff requires a firm and experienced handler as it's a very big dog that shouldn't be allowed to dominate its owner. It has a sweet and kind personality and temperament, and doesn't tend to have a vicious side. It is more likely to hold down an intruder rather than harming them.
