History and Origins of the Brussels GriffonThe History and Origins of the Brussels Griffon is really interesting. The history of the Brussels Griffon began in the town of Brussels, in the country of Belgian. It was produced mainly through crossing the Belgian Street dog with the Affenpinscher. This terrier looking breed is sometimes said to have facial expressions that resemble those of humans! Initially, this breed was used to catch rats in Belgian many years ago. However, it has become increasingly popular throughout the years and has since been used as watchdogs and house pets and companions. The American Kennel Club officially recognised the Brussels Griffon in the year of 1910. It is a small dog which has been listed under the Toy Group of dogs. Sometimes this breed is referred to as simply just 'The Brussels'. It is also nicknamed 'Monkey Face'. This is due to the similarity to human facial expressions which the dog is said to have! | |
