History and Origins of the Belgian Malinois
The History and Origins of the Belgian Malinois is really interesting. The history of the Belgian Malinois began in the town of Malines, in Belgium. This breed is often confused with the German Shepherd Dog due to its appearance and similarities in working abilities, as both breeds are extremely popular police and military workers. This breed, which is also referred to as the Belgian Shepherd Dog, has always been very popular in its home country of origin. This breed shares similarities with other Belgium breeds, however, the same standards are not recognised by the American Kennel Club who recognise the Belgian Malinos as a separate breed. The AKC officially recognised the name in 1959, and its group is listed as the herding group. This breed has great working capabilities and is widely used as a working dog. It has extensive observational skills and guarding abilities.
