The Personality and Temperament of the Bandog is very confident and determined. This large to giant sized dog is better owned by someone who has experience with handling large dogs of this nature. With the right training, this breed can be very loving, gentle and affectionate. However, it is a big dog and this should be considered before buying one. Bandogs are powerful, strong and athletic. They are full of energy and require a maximum amount of daily exercise and activity to keep them both mentally and physically satisfied. This determined breed of dog is fiercely protective of its owners so it should be heavily socialized from a young puppy so that it knows how to interact properly with strangers when it grows into an adult dog. This breed of dog has an independent nature and can be strong willed which are personality traits that can make obedience training a little slow and difficult.
