It is not typically aggressive in its ways, and in actual fact, should be encouraged to socialise from an early age in order to prevent it developing a timid side where it will shy away from things. Puppies and dogs from this breed are willing, loving and affectionate. They enjoy attention and have a lot to give to their family. They form relationships well and like to interact. Puppies and dogs have calm and laid-back temperaments and they are a pleasure to have around. American Cocker Spaniels may be small in size, however, they have bundles of energy, they are enthusiastic and like to play.
