It has a loving and even-temperament which enables it to bond well with people of all ages. This is a friendly breed that wants to greet everyone. It's a stable dog that is reliable and trustworthy. However, as with all breeds, this one should be obedience trained from a young age to achieve the best results and behavior. Dogs and puppies from this breed are bright, lively and spirited. They are also strong and energetic, therefore, requiring moderate amounts of daily exercise and activity to satisfy it both mentally and physically. This is a hard-working and committed breed of puppy and dog that shows plenty of enthusiasm and eagerness. This even-tempered and kind breed loves its owners and shows them a lot of love and affection. The Leonberger is also known as 'The Gentle Lion Dog' for its gentle ways and lion-like appearance.
